City of a thousand faces, both mythic and amazing, Paris is the most visited place in the world with over 46 million of visitors per year. Also renown as a world congress destination, the French capital welcomed 1 004 congresses in 2015 that gathering more than 761 000 worldwide delegates and just to name one, the successful edition of the European Wind Energy Association Conference and Exhibition - EWEA with 6 500 participants.

Paris has all the ingredients required for ensuring a smooth and well-run event, especially thanks to a wide range of welcoming facilities suitable for every taste and every budget. Whether you are looking for an academic venue such as the well-known Sorbonne University, for a scientific place as the Institut Pasteur, for a large conference hotel like the Pullman Montparnasse, or a convention centre as the Palais des Congrès de Paris, each venue has a unique and valuable identity. Nowadays, there are 17 convention centres spread all over the Paris districts and numerous development projects are under consideration. The most significant is the construction of a new congress centre inside the current Parc des Expositions of the Porte de Versailles. The centre will be operational by 2018 and will welcome the International Liver Congress EASL that year.

In addition to those infrastructures, the city has an abundant hotels capacity gathering 150 000 hotels rooms and 8 200 beds within low budget accommodation. The Paris City Council continuously increases its resources in particular with the 7 000 rooms plan which aims to create 7 000 additional rooms by 2020. Moreover, the Paris City Council, the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Paris Convention Bureau, and the tourism professionals reviewed and agreed to a new charter for the hosting of major congresses. The charter, just signed the 12th of May of 2016, regulates a global policy facilitating the major congresses organization and increasing the attractiveness of the destination.
